Orel Hershiser, one of the best pitchers to wear the Dodger blue, is also coveted as one of the best pitchers in the game. Orel began and ended his 18 year career with the Dodgers, with stints in Cleveland, San Francisco and New York in between. While with the Dodgers, Orel led the club to the 1988 World Series and set the MLB record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched at 59. Within that same season, he was named a National League All-Star, Cy Young Award winner, World Series MVP, a Gold Glover, Associated Press Athlete of the Year and Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. Following his retirement from the hill, Orel found success both behind the camera and in the front office. Since 2000, Orel has served as a game and studio analyst for ESPN, provided commentary for the Little League World Series for ABC and worked as a pitching coach within the Texas Rangers organization. Currently, the Emmy award wining broadcaster serves as a color commentator and analyst for the Los Angeles Dodgers on SportsNet LA.
